For the second year, TradFam.org will sponsor an entry Traditional Families and our Faith Values:
“America the Beautiful; Celebrating the Beauty of the American Family” our parade entry, represents Coeur d’Alene families celebrating our great nation and honors the heroes that defended our freedom to worship God and raise traditional families.
Supported by Parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Joan of Arc, Candlelight & Heart of the City Churches with youth choir from Candlelight & Coeur du Christ Academy and led by Sgt Robbie Walden of Coeur d’Alene, an Iraq War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the US Army Infantry & Special Operations Unit “LRS-D”.
Join Us: For a joyful and patriotic gathering of parents, grandparents, children, and teens. Please encourage members of your church to participate – wear red, white & blue, carry a flag or make a sign; God Bless Coeur d’Alene, God Bless our Families, God Bless Mom & Dad, spiritual or patriotic quotes that support the theme.
Please arrive between 9-9:30 am to our assigned staging area between 21st & 22nd St. Our group will include 2 trucks with flatbeds.
Upon arrival, please check in with one of our coordinators who will be wearing RED SHIRTS that say “BEAUTIFUL SACRIFICE.”

TradFam is dedicated to celebrating the beauty and importance of the Traditional Family that is the foundation of a healthy, thriving society.
To do this we are proposing that we set aside a month to celebrate, support and educate on the importance of the family.
The celebration would start on Mother’s Day, the second Sunday of May, and ending on Father’s Day, the third Sunday of June. Each week during this period we will celebrate a different part of the family as follows:

Conrad has a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. In addition to his involvement with TFVM Conrad serves as the Director of Idaho Parent’s Rights in Education and the Director of Operations of a K-12 charter school located in Kootenai County, Idaho.

Conrad, his wife Rebecca and their two children are active community and church members who are passionate supporters of traditional family values.
Conrad spent 10 years as a college professor teaching courses in Criminal Justice, Psychology and Physical Education. He wrote and designed the curriculum for the personal safety course currently taught at Sierra College in Rocklin, Ca. Conrad is a retired police officer for the City of Sacramento Police Department where he served 12 years as a patrol and field training officer. He has certifications for law enforcement instructor in, Defensive Tactics, Weaponless Defense, and Ground Fighting. He has also studied various martial arts continuously for over 33 years holding black belts or instructor rank in several arts.
Conrad spent over 25 years working directly with trauma-based Post Traumatic Stress Disorder clients. As part of his graduate school work Conrad researched and developed a self-defense based empowerment program designed to integrate with traditional therapeutic modalities for survivors of violence related trauma. Conrad named this program the R.E.C.O.V.E.R. model of therapeutic self-defense.
Conrad draws on his experience and expertise when advocating for the numerous positive mental, physical and emotional benefits children receive from being raised in a traditional family. As a result, Conrad has been sought out to give expert testimony to Idaho legislators on a variety of issues, interviewed numerous times for pod casts, articles and radio segments and maintains a busy schedule of lectures at various conferences throughout the year.
Katherine lives in the Coeur d’Alene area with her husband and daughter and is an attorney for Pacific Justice Institute, a nation-wide law firm specializing in religious freedom, freedom of speech and parental rights.
Through her work with Pacific Justice Institute, she has seen first-hand the challenges people with traditional family values face in the workplace, in schools, and in the public square. Katherine worked in healthcare before graduating as valedictorian from Whittier Law School. She has previous experience in healthcare law, representing healthcare professionals in a variety of settings. From this experience, Katherine has seen the value of the traditional family, especially for children. Katherine heads Pacific Justice Institute’s Idaho office.
Ben was born and raised in North Idaho where he currently resides with his wife of 24 years and their 5 children. He attended North Idaho College where he received his AA degree in Political Science and Gonzaga University where he earned a BBA in International Business.
After college he co-owned a manufacturing company that won industry awards, including Green Products Award, Golden Hammer Award for Innovation and Regional SBA award for exporting excellence. In 2013 he was recognized with the North Idaho Business Journal’s top 30 under 40 leaders award.
Ben’s foundational values and principles come from the Bible and his relationship with Jesus Christ. He has served his community at a variety of organizations and previously served as Treasurer and Elder Advisor at his local church. Ben co-founded and led a local home-school co-op where he taught economics, government, and leadership classes and coached a debate team. In the public sector, he was on the Advisory Board for the Idaho Small Business Development Center for several years.
Ben’s political involvement comes from a core belief that citizens should be engaged and serve their communities. He believes in government “by the people, for the people” and the protection of God-given rights. In his current role as Idaho State Senator, he is the Vice Chair of the Senate Education Committee and serves on the Transportation and State Affairs committees. He strives to create meaningful, healthy dialogue, listen to various points of view and make wise decisions that represent his constituents.
